So I've been back in Singapore for not less than 10 days, and not one update! Lazy lazy, but what does it matter? Anyone who reads this blog is probably within an hour's travel anyway. Been embarking on a food trail of my own, crossing off foods from my "to-eat" checklist, resulting in many aches in the tum. Gotta rein in my voracious appetite before I destroy my guts by overeating.

As you may have noticed there's now a tagbox to the right, due to popular demand. It has replaced the largely useless "Weather" gadget that always defaults to New York, NY. Do I even care if it's rain or sunshine ten thousand miles away? And even if I did give a hoot I'd expect it to be in degrees CELSIUS thank you, to hell with the Empirical System! Get on with the times you yanks, everyone else is using Metric nowadays!

So anyway, after a little "home-improvement", I got about thinking of the direction my blog should take. Should it remain as-is, nothing more than a page of photos depicting my everyday life (most, if not all about food, namely what I ate), everyday; or should I let this be a place where I collect my epiphanies and reflections on issues, like many of the other blogs out there?

This is the part where I take it to the polls, so please vote on my tagbox, and indulge in the fresh-out-of-the-box smell!

[This post was supposed to be up last night, but my netbook decided to BSOD on me midway though the post, and the modem decided to work only the next morning, so here it is now.]

14/09/09

Random scenery shots of the park near my place. Went there to chill after Math paper.
Wood chippings + compost

Dinner: Japanese curry. The potatoes turned out mushy and had disintegrated, which led to me adding more water, which resulted in too much leftover gravy. It was all good though, the pork was delish.

15/09/09
Went to one of the cliques' homes after Literature exam. Realised that I totally cannot click with any of them. Consoled myself with some Lord of the Fries. Mexican sauce was terrible.
Lunch: Ghetto curry ramen, jap curry over instant noodles
Dinner: This crazy milk drink that I bought was crazy thick, reads what it does.

16/09/09
Breakfast: French toast

So I was flying back soon, and I still had 2 serves of beef mince left in my freezer. What better way to deal with it than: Meatballs!
Grating parmesan while chatting on msn
Serves 10 = 16 recieved
Sizzle ye beauties!
Oh so delish, crisp on the outside, moist on the inside. Was a tad bit too salty though, didn't factor in the salt from the parmesan.
Lunch: Green pepper fried rice with meatballs
The scenery I see every night.

17/09/09

Breakfast: Pork chop with rice. Best breakfast ever! Meat marinated for 2+ days (unintentional), nicely caramelised onions, perfect eggs, bliss.
More signs of Spring!
Absoloutely right
Lunch: Mixed rice from some thai takeaway near my place. Waste of money and stomach space. From left: Sweet stewed pork, sambal fishballs, worst thai green curry ever.

Went to watch Grease the musical at night. Oh so good, though it was difficult to fit into John Travolta's shoes. Female lead was hawt though with the tights in the last scene. Left me with a skip in my step and tunes in my head afterwards.

Lazy lazy lazy, exams coming up, then it's home-bound!

10/09/09
Wah sian my room is damn 夕照 la..
Dinner: Chicken and spinach fried rice, lots of spinach... Tasted a bit weird.

11/09/09
Breakfast: Spinach cheese omelette
Lunch: Curry chicken don at Don Tojo. (actually it's just teriyaki chicken don with copious amounts of curry gravy, yum) Cheap and good.
Heh, Tham theatre (actually it's Latham theatre, pronounced Lat-ham)
Dinner: Cheapass pizza from Dominos. Thank goodness for student discounts!

12/09/09
Crazy hot (and windy) day, as you can see the wind/wind gusts above. The temperature went on to peak at 29.4deg, which led me to wonder if we had skipped Spring altogether and hit Summer instead. As I went out for lunch, I realised it was the first time I didn't need (or rather, didn't bother) to go out wearing a jacket.
Lunch: Seafood Hor Fun at Dessert House, with Iced 鸳鸯 (Coffee-Tea mix). Expensive, but worth every cent for authentic 'zhi char' here in Ozland.
Weather's killing me, with hot winds lapping at my cheeks, so what better way to beat the heat than with a few lashings of awesome gelati from Il Freddo Dolce!
Decided to go adventurous, got me a 'cinnamon and pear' and 'baileys'. The Irish cream tasted like, well, what it's supposed to taste like. Cinnamon and pear on the other hand was rather pleasant, strong cinnamon flavour with chunks of soft pear. Though it could be less cloyingly sweet as a whole.

Oh did I mention that the lift in my building was down on Friday night? Well, shit tends to happen when it would have the most impact. So the stairwell saw more action for the entire weekend than it would ever have in a year.

As I have a math exam (and exams in general) coming up next week, I decided to hit the books. What I didn't know was how hard I hit them. So I got started on past year papers, and as I did it got into more of a positive-feedback look where I finished one and I'd be spurred to start on the next one. So as I did, I lost track of time, and at the end of a 5hr math marathon I finally realised that I've ran out of past year papers to do. Perhaps that double-caffeine concoction I had for lunch had something to do with this bizzare behaviour?
Pictured is a messed-up (and still is) thumb after 5hrs of math.

13/09/09

Seeing as how I done all my math work in one sitting and still managed to get up before noon (11am), I decided to reward myself with one of them Mighty Angus burgers that I keep seeing on the telly. (If I see that faux-waiter fella in the ad one more time...RAGE)
Lunch: Mighty Angus meal. Doesn't look pretty (which burger churned out from McD's does IRL?) but tastes pretty darned good, even though it was a little cold, being a takeaway, and the patty slightly dry. Still, slab of angus beef with cheese, onions and bacon is some atery-clogging tasty goodness.

Dinner: Creamy chicken mushroom pasta. Made using mushrooms, chicken, spaghetti and sour cream. Serve hot, as the cream starts to clot as time passes.

(P.S. Did I mention that the weather's back to normal now? Down to the 17s in the day and 12s at night.)

08/09/09

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with cheese sandwich
Dinner: Canned vegetable soup with beef mince and diced potatoes

09/09/09
Lunch: Leftover soup/stew on rice with chicken bought from Union House
Went for the Karaoke event, the food was eaten by jokers who came, ate, and left. Hungry now. The karaoke itself was great though. Did this song, and after so many years finally understood how funky/gay this song was through its lyrics.

Weekend update

So yeah it has been an unproductive weekend, so sue me.

04/09/09
Breakfast: Egg with salami toast
Dinner: Mixed rice from 阿凡提快餐, some funky corner store opposite QV. Beansprouts tasted awful, just like anywhere else in Aussie, egg w/ tomato was good, stewed beef brisket was good. 6.5/10
The sight that greeted me when I went out for dinner. Crack in the clouds revealed a huge moon, partially occluded.

05/09/09
I don't know what happened on Saturday, but I did complete Season one of House M.D.

06/09/09

Breakfast: Buttered bread sticks with canned tuna

Lunch: Grilled fish and chips at Queen Vic market, they were out of the fried ones.
Dinner: Garlic and chilli chicken breast with mushrooms and broccoli

07/09/09
Breakfast: Ham and egg sandwich

Dinner: I went back in time and got my dinner from Sunday. No, really.
